29 July, 2011 – Part one of a two-part episode in which we hear from David Cappoli.

David has developed a network outside of his workplace. This network has grown to include students, newly minted information professionals, mentors, mentees, and friends. For him, his connection with students is a 2-way street, and his professional life has enjoyed the benefits of each side.

Hear examples of how SLA has facilitated this network expansion, and what David prefers: in-person or social media interaction. What do you prefer?

David is the  digital resources librarian for UCLA and a member of the SLA Southern California Chapter. Prior to joining UCLA, David was a librarian at the LA Times. He is currently running for 2012 SLA President-Elect.
